Livelihood & Skill development

Lack or low level of skills among the women and girls in the rural areas due to lack of absence of vocational skilling opportunities is a key issue in terms of their livelihood’s development and promotion. Another connected issue is lack of support systems for the poor and marginalized communities for income generation. In order to respond to this situation, the Company is running various short term vocational training programs like Stitching & Tailoring; Beautician; Basic Computer; Mobile Repairing; Embroidery Making jointly in partnership with Govt Polytechnic Institutes nearby to it various plants in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana and Chhattisgarh. More than 3000 women and girls have benefitted from these training programs.

Company has initiated sustainable livelihoods creation through promotion of on-farm and off-farm activities like Vegetable cultivation; Mobile repairing, Phenyl making, bags making, improved paddy cultivation and others. Small and marginal farmers have been supported with trainings, cattle improvement through artificial insemination and fodder development; distribution of High Yielding Varieties (HYV) seeds and knowledge improvement through visit and interactions with Krishi Vighyan Kendra (KVK).

Another key strategy of the Company’s CSR is to work as a facilitator for the poor and marginalized families/ communities’ access to various government anti-poverty as well as social security schemes. For this the CSR team undertakes awareness building as well as various activities like filling the application form, its submission to relevant govt line departments and Panchayat functionaries and follow ups.

The Company also organize trainings for the masons as a part of their skill up-gradation and livelihoods enhancement with a vision that some of them would use these skills to become contractor and earn their livelihood more than the present level of their earnings.
