JK Lakshmi's journey towards excellence is being spearheaded by our Chairman Shri Bharat Hari Singhania closely supported by his Board of Directors. They are the pillars of strength leading the company towards its mission of being one of the most efficient, competitive and premium Cement Brands of our region.

  • Shri Bharat Hari Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director
  • Shri Bharat Hari Singhania, aged 81 years, is an industrialist with over 62 years of experience in managing various industries including Cement, Automotive Tyres, Paper, Jute, Synthetics, high yielding Hybrid Seeds etc. Shri Singhania one of the Promoters, has been Managing Director of the Company since 1994 and elevated to the position of Chairman in 2013. Shri Singhania has also been Chairman/Director of several Industrial and other Companies. He is the past President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Indian Jute Mills Association. He also headed the Indian Jute Industries Research Association and has served on various government committees and participated on various overseas delegations. He is simultaneously Managing Director of JK Tyre & Industries Limited.

    As Managing Director of the Company, Shri Bharat Hari Singhania is vested with substantial powers of management under the superintendence, control and direction of the Board of Directors. Shri Singhania is also involved in policy planning, vision and strategy and long term developmental activities of the Company, besides Corporate Governance and Board coordination. Shri Singhania has held the business strong in the midst of intensifying competition in the cement industry.

    Under the visionary leadership of Shri Singhania, the Company has undertaken various Capacity Expansion Projects including commissioning of its first phase of 1.8 million tons Greenfield Project at Durg. The Company has also made a foray into other value added products viz RMC, PoP, AAC Blocks etc. The Company has achieved new milestones in its efficiency improvement. Further, under the mature guidance of Shri Singhania, the Company continues to be one of the least cost producers of cement in the country. The efficiency parameter of the Company with respect to power consumption and fuel consumption continues to be one of the best in the industry. The Company's captive power generation has also touched a new high thereby reducing our cost of operations besides enabling to meet the renewable energy obligation. Under his able leadership, Udaipur Cement Works Ltd., a subsidiary of the Company, has been turned around and a new cement line is added at a capex of Rs. 8.25 Crore, whereby, the aggregate cement capacity of the Company has been raised to 12.5 MT.

  • Smt. Vinita Singhania, Vice Chairman & Managing Director
  • Smt. Vinita Singhania, a businesswoman and an industrialist, aged 67 years, has diversified and rich business experience. She is the only woman Director on the Board. She has long experience of managing cement business. Vested with substantial powers of management under the superintendence, control and direction of the Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Company, Smt. Singhania, Vice-Chairman & Managing Director, looks after planning, coordination and overall operations of the Company, interaction with associations of the cement industry and HRD function of the Company. She has been instrumental in shaping the HR culture of the Company.

    Under the dynamic guidance and supervision of Smt. Singhania, the Company has undertaken various efficiency improvements and capacity enhancement projects, culminating into the present capacity about 10.7 million tonnes and Turnover touching 3400 Crores. Group Cement Capacity has been raised to 12.5 million tonnes. Establishment of RMC Plants spreading over the Northern and Eastern part of India as well as introducing newer product lines like POP and AAC Blocks have added value to the Company’s growth.The Company has also been regularly paying dividend to the Shareholders since 2005-2006. The Company has not made any default in repayment of its financial obligations. The Company has also not made any default in repayment of public deposits.

    In her visionary leadership, JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd. has been one of the champions of inclusive growth and had been undertaking community development projects for overall development and welfare of communities around its business and plant locations. The Company aspires to be a leading company in the Indian cement industry while maintaining a clear focus on social upliftment and environment protection to the realization of a truly empowered society. The Mission statement of the company unequivocally state to be a "socially responsible corporate citizen". One of our prime initiatives in the area of health called "Naya Savera" - a CSR project at Pindwara block of Sirohi district in Rajasthan which was launched in 2004, a decade before the CSR law was enacted in 2013 by the Govt. of India, is a classic example of her vision and social commitment. She heads the "CSR Committee" at the corporate level which has been constituted in compliance of the Company Law. Her unflinching commitment for inclusive growth model fosters a passion for changing the lives of local communities that the Company operates in. The major CSR thrust areas of the organization are health, water, sanitation, education, skill development, livelihoods, community development, etc. Smt. Vinita Singhania has the distinction of being the first woman President of Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA) as well as National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCBM). She was elected unanimously as the President CMA in October 2009. Contributions made by Smt. Vinita Singhania, have also been recognized by various awards: Recently, she has been conferred with ‘Woman of the Year’ by Uday India; Construction Woman of the year 2016 by Construction Times and Most Powerful Woman of the Year by India Today.

  • Shri B. V. Bhargava, Director
  • Shri B.V. Bhargava, aged 82 years, has had a distinguished career in development banking and project finance for nearly three decades. He retired from ICICI w.e.f. 1 st May 1996 as Vice Chairman and Managing Director. Shri Bhargava was the Chairman of the ICICI Telecom Group, a special group constituted by ICICI to advise the Government on key issues pertaining to reform of the telecommunications section such as the creation of independent regulatory body and the entry conditions for private section in telecom services. Shri B.V. Bhargava is also a Director of various companies, including, Grasim Industries Ltd., Supreme Industries Ltd., L&T Finance Holdings Limited.

  • Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Non-Executive Director
  • Dr. Raghupati Singhania, age 72 years, is representative of the Promoter & Promoter Group which holds 45.94% of the Equity Share Capital of the Company. Dr. Singhania is the Chairman & Managing Director of JK Tyre & Industries Ltd.

    Dr. Singhania is also Chairman of J.K. Fenner (India) Ltd., CIL and JK Tornel, Mexico, apart from being on the Board of various groupcompanies and Foundations in the fields of medical and education. Dr. Singhania is the past Chairman of Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association and in the past he was President of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is also in the National Council of CII, besides his association with other important Business Councils, etc.

    Dr. Singhania has been also inducted into the "TIA Hall of Fame 2015" on 2 nd November 2015, which is the highest honour any Individual in the Tyre Industy can achieve in the world.

    In the special issue of Business Today (January 1, 2017), Dr. Singhania has also been listed amongst India’s best CEOs. Dr. Singhania also received Industry leadership Award from Indo-American Chamber of Commerce.

    During the FY 2018-19, H.E. Melba Pria, Ambassador of Mexico to India, presented the Decoration of the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle to Dr. Raghupati Singhania, which is the highest distinction, awarded by the Mexican government to foreigners in recognition of their outstanding services to Mexico or to humanity. This is the first time that this highest distinction has been conferred on a foreign national business person.

    Dr. Singhania has been recognised as ‘The Extraordinaire’ for his leadership and contribution to the industry by Brand Vision Summit 2018.

    Dr. Singhania effectively contributes in the Board meetings. He conducts himself in an appropriate and ethical manner taking into account interest of stakeholders, while striving to achieve Company’s objectives and Annual Business Plans within the cost budget and through a process of close monitoring, while ensuring that, the policies, processes and compliances were in place.

    The Company has been regularly paying dividend. The Company has not made any default in repayment of its financial obligations. The Company has also not made any default in repayment of public deposits. The Company does not have grievances of investors/ shareholders, except few minor grievances of routine nature.

  • Shri Nand Gopal Khaitan, Director
  • Shri N. G. Khaitan, aged 68 years, an Attorney-at-Law, is a leading Solicitor and practicing Advocate. Shri Khaitan is Senior Partner of Khaitan & Co., Kolkata, a renowned Law Firm and has more than 32 years experience in legal profession. He specializes Inter alia in corporate and arbitration matters, commercial and civil litigation, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. Shri N. G. Khaitan is on the Board of various companies, including, Chase Bright Steel Ltd., HSIL Ltd., India Power Corporation Ltd., Mangalam Timber Products Ltd., Mangalam Cement Ltd.

  • Shri Ravi Jhunjhunwala, Director
  • Shri Ravi Jhunjhunwala, aged 63 years, holds a Graduate degree in Commerce. He did his MBA from the Centre D'etudes Industrielles (CEI), Geneva (now IMI, Lausanne). Shri Ravi Jhunjhunwala is the Chairman & Managing Director of Rs. 4,739 crore (over $1b) LNJ Bhilwara Group. The group is a diversified conglomerate in Textiles, Graphite Electrodes, Power and IT enabled services. The group, under his leadership, has played a pioneering role in many contemporary businesses and today, has 14 Companies (six of them are listed) with impeccable financial health. Shri Jhunjhunwala is the Managing Director of HEG Ltd. and is a Director in the various companies, including, RSWM Ltd., Bhilwara Energy Ltd., Malana Power Company Ltd.

  • Dr. Kashi Nath Memani, Director
  • Dr. K.N. Memani, aged 80 years, is a Chartered Accountant. Shri Memani was the Chairman & Country Managing Partner of Ernst & Young, India till 31 st March 2004. He specializes in Business and Corporate Advisory, Foreign Taxation, Financial Consultancy etc. and is consulted on the corporate matters by several domestic and foreign companies. Government of India had appointed Shri Memani as Chairman of the Quality Review Board, an oversight Board to review the quality of Auditors. He was a Co-Chairman of the Expert Committee constituted by the Ministry of Company Affairs for the drafting of new Companies Act. He was on the External Audit Committee (EAC) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for two consecutive years (1998-2000) and was appointed the Chairman of EAC for the year 1999-2000. He is the only Indian appointed in this Committee by IMF. Shri Memani was the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in India during the year 2005-06 and 2007-08. Shri Memani is also a Director of various companies, including, HT Media Limited, Emami Ltd., DLF Limited

  • Dr. Shailendra Chouksey, Whole-time Director
  • Dr. Shailendra Chouksey is a Ph.D in Management, Post Graduate in Physics and is a MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University. Dr. Chouksey has over 42 years of corporate experience out of which over 32 years of association has been with JK Lakshmi Cement. He joined the company when its capacity was 0.5 million & he has been an integral part of the company senior management team in its journey to current capacity of about 13 million tons.

    A strong believer in nurturing team spirit has led several innovating initiatives such as to becoming India's first ISO 9002 certified cement company, use of colored packing bags, introduction of ERP solution and use of other high end software to improve the processes andimprove customer relationship with an eye on continuously improving company's brand equity. He has introduced number of brands including first Premium Cement Brand in the Northern market besides other brands and products to cater to niche segments. He is passionate about having HR practices which are most conducive to attract and retain talent. JKLC today is the only cement company to be in the list of Best Place to Work. Dr. Chouksey is responsible for all the commercial, financial and marketing activities of the company and is responsible to lead company's large distribution network of over 6000 stockists / dealers, sales promotors and transporters. He attributes his achievements to a strong people centric approach and team work.

    Dr. Chouksey has spearheaded various delegation to the government, both at Central and State level. He has successfully led the Cement Industry as a President of Cement Manufacturers' Association from July 2016 - December, 2018 in which capacity he has led from the front Industry meets at the level of PMO, Finance Ministry, Environment Ministry, GST Council. He has also headed National Council for Cement and Building Materials as its Chairman for 3 years. He was nominated by Government of India in 2017 to head Development Council for Cement Industry.

  • Shri Sushil Kumar Wali, Whole-time Director
  • Shri Sushil Kumar Wali, aged 68 years, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering with distinction. He has over 47 years experience and is presently Whole Time Director of JK Lakshmi Cement Limited. Mr. Wali is responsible for Cement Division of JK Organisation including Technical, Materials, Administration, HR and other Project expansion activities.

    Mr. SK Wali is Chairman of "Knowledge Exchange Platform" which is a joint initiative of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and Institute of Industrial Productivity (IIP) for promoting energy efficiency through sharing of best practices in the industries covered under the Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) scheme. Mr. Wali was Chairman of Technical Committee, Cement Manufacturers’ Association (CMA) for more than 1½ decade, Ex-Member of Governing Body as well as Ex-Chairman of Administration & Finance Committee (AFC) of National Council for Cement & Building Materials. He was also an active member of Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development.

    Mr. Wali has undergone national and international training in Business Management at Blue Circle , U.K, IIM – Ahmedabad, Wharton and Stanford, U.S.A.

    Mr. Wali has undergone international training in coaching and is a certified coach from International Coaching Community. Mr. Wali is actively associated with People Development and he is considered in the group as a mentor and coach to lot of youngsters. He has groomed and coached a large number of executives for taking higher responsibilities in the group and in Manufacturing Industry. He also has Teaching experience as Faculty for National Council for Cement and Building Materials.

    He joined the Board of Directors of the Company on 20th July 2002. Starting as a Plant Engineer in 1972, he rose to the position of Joint President (Operations) in Lakshmi Cement of JK Corp Limited in 1998. He has also handled finalization and implementation of the Company's Cement Project in consultation with World Bank, U.S.A. Shri Wali played a stupendous role in setting up New Greenfield Cement Plant in Eastern India & Grinding Units.

    Under his guidance, the Company has also achieved high efficiency parameters in the areas of energy consumption, use of alternate fuels, establishing of green power etc., thereby effected substantial savings in costs and improved productivity.

  • Amb. Bhaswati Mukherjee, Independent Women Director
  • Bhaswati Mukherjee is a retired Indian diplomat and was Ambassador of India to the Netherlands, The Hague. She was engaged in heritage projects for UNESCO; the Indentured Labour Route Project for the Government of Mauritius and Spice Route Project for State Government of Kerala, India. She is also a visiting Professor in various Indian Universities for lectures on strategic issues and on Indian culture, civilisation and heritage. Ambassador Mukherjee is a commentator on foreign policy and strategic issues on television. She is also completing a book on the India EU relationship, the challenges and the way ahead, commissioned by the Indian Council of World Affairs, a leading think tank. She is an Independent Director on the Board of Udaipur Cement Works Limited and Jindal Stainless Limited.
